Our Background

Care Horizons Ltd is one of the key providers of both day care & 24/7 care in the South Gloucestershire area.

Established in June 2004, we started out from a small office in Staple Hill, we have continued to grow each year and now our administrative offices are based in larger premises in Yate.

Our team has grown to over 50 members of staff who all contribute towards our continued mission of providing the highest levels of care possible.

Our Mission Statement

Care Horizons aims to provide a holistic service to its client group within their home, based upon each individual’s wishes, rights, competence and health reasons.

These services will endeavour with the resources available, to seek to develop each individual to their fullest potential while maintaining their dignity and equality of all its customers.

We recognise that people are our most valued resource and as such we will uphold the principles of teamwork through open communication, clear objectives and flexibility, and to continually strive to improve the quality and standard of service offered to our clients.


Our Care Team

We ensure that all our staff are trained by providing training internally or sending them on courses if required. We use CM2000. This allows our staff to electronically log when they arrive for a session and leave the clients home by allowing the staff to dial a freephone number from the clients house to register the beginning and end of each session.


Vierka Hiscock


Vierka has been Managing Director of Care Horizons since 2017, providing bespoke assistance for people with learning difficulties and mental health needs.  “I tell my clients all the time not to worry. Let me worry about it and we’ll work it out,” she says.

Vierka’s greatest satisfaction is when clients and their families visit the Care Horizons office for a cup of tea.  “It’s a wonderful, positive atmosphere,” she says. “It’s never about what our clients lack; it’s about what they have and how we can help them use that to their advantage.”




Hayley has worked for care horizons since 2007. She really enjoys her role and working for the unique care that Care Horizons offers, and its whole ethos, which is why she has remained employed by them for many years. Hayley has been in the care profession since 1990. 




Alan has worked for Care Horizons for nearly five years, making tremendous progress within the company. He has been a team leader for two years and oversees two clients’ houses with other members of staff. He loves the team he works with at Care Horizons and is looking forward to progressing a great career.



Travis has over thirty years of experience implementing, administering and supporting secure IT solutions for large blue-chip organisations.



Jess oversees a group of staff, running two independent living homes and is also a valued member of the office staff helping run the day to day. Jess started with Care Horizons four years ago as a support worker and has worked up to her current role.



Joe has worked within the care sector since 1989, in a variety of different settings.  She is Manager at Care horizons and has worked within the company since 2007. Joe holds a diploma in Empowering Practices within Healthcare, NVQ level 3 and NVQ level 5.


Parlimentary Review 2018

“I am proud to have committed to ensuring that our staff members are all trained to achieve their full potential. When I took over Care Horizons Ltd, I instigated an individualised training plan for each staff member, including QCF qualification training. I apply the same standards to myself – I have trained for, and have become, a coach and mentor for both business and life skills. I hold recognised qualifications, and I know how positive empathy should be put into coaching and mentoring. I am also offering all our staff one-to-one mentoring/coaching every month for these skills, as well as a business coaching and mentoring service to other companies.”
